Good News for China’s Bond Markets, a Not-So-Happy New Year for Payment Companies

Although China’s markets are closed this week in celebration of the holiday, regulators and market players snuck in a few announcement in the days preceding the festival. The biggest news includes Bloomberg’s inclusion of onshore bond markets in their indices, as well as regulators upending business models for third-party payment companies— an important item that went largely unreported in Western media.
